On this occasion, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that the signing of the agreement aims to enhance trade exchange and customs cooperation between the two countries through the effective and rapid implementation of the requirements of the Authorized Economic Operator Program, and to create multiple opportunities for economic and trade gains that push the two countries towards strengthening customs cooperation ، Pointing out that this agreement contributes to enhancing customs and trade cooperation, exchanging experiences, benefits, facilities and customs information between the two countries, determining procedures and joint work mechanisms for exchanging information on mutual recognition, identifying the list of approved operators between the two countries, and measuring the returns resulting from the application of mutual recognition, and this agreement also contributes to exchanging Lists of approved operators with these operators receiving the benefits agreed upon in mutual recognition while exercising customs procedures.
The head of customs added that the agreement provides mutual recognition of the approved economic operator program with many advantages for approved companies in the two countries, the most important of which is simplified verification of documents related to imports, facilitating the process of clearing imported goods, and appointing liaison officers from customs employees to address issues related to clearing goods for approved economic operators.
It is worth noting that the Authorized Economic Operator Program provides a package of agreed-upon benefits and facilities to the commercial establishment that adheres to the security standards stipulated in the Authorized Economic Operator Program applied in the Kingdom of Bahrain within the framework of standards for security and facilitation of the supply chain in international trade «Safe».
