Duty Free Allowances
Effects and gifts in the possession of travelers are exempt from customs taxes "duties", provided that they are not of a commercial character and according to the following controls: Personal
- Personal effects and gifts that are accompanied by travelers, whose value does not exceed BD 300.
- One (1) electronic hookah device.
- One (1) electronic heating device
- Ten (10) electronic cigarettes.
- (400) regular or electronic cigarettes, or the equivalent (250) grams of tobacco.
- An amount (60 ml) of liquid electronic hookah filling.
- An amount (3 liters) of alcoholic beverages.
- An amount (a quarter of a kilo) of pipe tobacco.
- 50 cigars.
- 12 beer cans.
Conditions for exemption:
- The permitted tobacco products and alcoholic beverages must be in the possession of the 18-year-old.
- Luggage and gifts must be of a personal, not a commercial, nature.
- It should not be a frequent flyer who brings in goods on a regular basis.
- The flight crew member's obligation to follow the specified exemption mechanism.
The currency:
- There are no restrictions on imports of local or foreign currency in the Kingdom of Bahrain (customs may require the traveler to prove the assets of the money in his possession) according to the amendment of Law No. 54 and Article No. 57 of 2006.
Advertising:
- In accordance with Decree No. (4) Law of 2001 Concerning the Prevention and Prohibition of Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism and based on the amendment of Law No. 54 of 2006 Article 57, customs or security authorities have the right to request travelers arriving or departing from the Kingdom of Bahrain to disclose the value of local or foreign currencies or gold Or other negotiable instruments in their possession.
Other actions
Incoming passengers can bring personal goods subject to customs duties and other goods within the framework of the temporary import regime for a period of six months, which can be extended, and it may be necessary to pay a financial deposit that can be recovered when exporting these goods under the supervision of Customs Affairs.
- Customs may retain goods subject to customs duties and personal goods for passengers who do not wish to use or consume these goods in the Kingdom of Bahrain until they leave the Kingdom within a period not exceeding three months upon the passengers ’request, and these goods can be transported to a customs port for export under the transit system.
