Customs President His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has held his third meeting with Saudi Governor of the General Customs Authority Ahmed Al Hakbani in Riyadh.
The Customs President said the Customs ties between the two countries had moved from coordination to the integration phase following the implementation of the decisions of the GCC leaders to eliminate hindrances in the way of trade exchange among regional states.
He said the meeting reviewed important issues and focused on Bahrain’s experience in managing the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition. He invited the Saudi Customs to Bahrain to oversee the customs procedures in managing exhibitions and the development of those steps annually to speed up the customs operations.
He also highlighted the pre-customs clearance system at King Fahad Causeway to facilitate the traffic of trucks. The meeting was also attended by the Director-General of Customs Services and some customs officials.
