Under the patronage of President of Customs and Acting Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has patronised a virtual workshop on the strategic plan 2022-2025. Organised by the General Secretariat of the organisation, the event was held in association with experts from the European Union, Economic and Development Cooperation Organisation and Customs officials in the North Africa and Far and Middle East.
The workshop aimed to negotiate and highlight views and suggestions of top customs management authorities through strategic foresight approach in preparation for drawing the strategic plan of the organisation for the next three years.
In his opening speech, Shaikh Ahmed asserted the importance to take into consideration the changes and development in customs-related technologies, along with the facilitation of trade and the protection of society by setting strategic plans in dealing with clients and partners by adopting digital solutions.
On the other hand, Shaikh Ahmed took part in the opening session of the WCO conference for technology 2020.
