The Civil Service Bureau and the Customs Affairs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to modernise the Quality Assurance Directorate of the Customs Affairs.
The agreement was signed by Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa and CSB President Ahmed Bin Zayed Al Zayed.
The two parties stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination through the MoU.
Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has praised His Majesty the King’s directives to take into account the citizens’ needs by excluding necessary commodities and services from the Value-Added Tax (VAT).
He also highlighted the conclusion of all steps to get ready for the implementation of the tax from 2019, including the upgradation of the e-customs clearance system and briefing of customs-clearance agents and the bodies concerned about the steps required to implement the VAT.
